Why I haven’t been blogging
I haven’t written any posts here in a long time. This was because I have been busy with my first paying freelance project. To be honest I could have made time to keep writing for this blog but it felt more productive to commit 100% to the freelance project. Do I regret this ? Ye I do, in reality there were a lot of times that I wasn’t completely busy with the project. There was a lot of down time where while I was waiting for information that I could have kept writing and up until know I have kept putting it on the long finger.
Since my last update, I have completed the freelance project, I’m just waiting on the call that it can go live. It is an insurance website so there are a lot of regulatory things going on that I’m not involved in. But I will be happy when it goes live. To learn more about mobile app development I wrote a small Android App for a bike computer, this ended up working pretty well so I have decided to release it to Google Play Store.
This has led to my first bit of experience on the non coding side of development. To make the app look nice I hired a designer from Fiver to develop a logo. It was €50 well spent. As part of deciding on what type of logo I wanted and what I wanted it to mean. I started thinking about what I wanted to use the logo for. What started off as a simple app has started the business side of my mind thinking and my ideas have started rolling and gathering momentum. This has started to grow into a business plan that is continuously getting more fleshed out and expanding into multiple areas in both the physical world and real world. Out of this it has made me think about how I can develop different types of software and how they can complement each other under the umbrella of a company. I’m not sure if this will all work out, let alone make any money but it will be fun to try out.
